CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. The term "contemporary" is somewhat misleading: it describes a genre that developed during the mid-20th century and is still very popular today.

BALLET
A classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement.
Classical ballet emphasizes fluid, graceful movements and long lines, along with strict adherence to correct form and technique, especially turn-out of the legs. There's also a focus on narrative and storytelling achieved through dramatic visuals and complex choreography.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Musical Theatre is a jazz-based class filled with Broadway-style dancing and music. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions

HIP HOP
Hip Hop is not just a form of dance; it is a culture- a way of life. Hip Hop consists of the following elements: b-boying (breaking), DJ-ing, graffiti art, and mc-ing(rapping). It was born out of the expression and communication that erupted from African American and Latino youth in the Bronx in the 1970s. Hip hop dance is defined by two forms: b-boying, which is danced to breaks or break-beat music, and hip-hop social dances- which are danced to rap music.

AFRICAN
African dance refers to a form of performing art found among most cultures of Sub-Saharan Africa. It involves rhythmic body movements combined with music and sometimes theatrical representations. There are as many forms of African dance as there are human groups.
In African societies, dance serves a complex diversity of social purposes. Within an indigenous dance tradition, each performance usually has a principal as well as a number of subsidiary purposes, which may express or reflect the communal values and social relationships of the people.

LATIN
Latin dance has a rich cultural history rooted in the traditional dances of native peoples of Latin America. These dances were heavily influenced by European colonists and African slaves during and after the European colonization of Latin America. The dances we know today traveled to Europe and the U.S. where they were popularized by musicians and dance companies. Because of this rich and varied history, many Latin dances have several different forms. Examples include Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, Samba, and more.
COMMERCIAL DANCE
A popular marketing term for studio classes that involves a variety of choreographic styles often mistakenly labeled as hip hop. It is the main source of career opportunities for professional dancers and includes dance for the stage, music artists, dance for films/movies, music videos, and commercials.

JAZZ
Jazz dance evolved from early African American vernacular dances during the early 1900s and was performed to jazz music. Jazz as we know It today incorporates unique moves, elaborate footwork, large leaps, rapid turns, and imaginative improvisation to bring an energetic and entertaining experience.
